Seedream 5.5 FAQ

Which Seedream 5.5 modes are available?

Text-to-image and image-to-image with the Seedream 5.5 model.

Which resolutions are accepted?

The Seedream 5.5 launch accepts 1K or 2K resolution. Text-to-image also exposes the documented aspect-ratio enum.

How are reference images handled?

Reference images are uploaded through the existing authenticated asset flow. The API resolves the stored asset ID and refuses arbitrary browser-supplied image URLs.

How is task progress checked?

The server tracks every task and shows it as queued, processing, succeeded, or failed. Your browser only checks the status of your own tasks.

What happens to credits when a task fails?

Credits are reserved before provider submission. Success settlement and failure release happen server-side with idempotency boundaries; the client cannot request a refund by changing callback data. An image that is generated but blocked by the final safety check is still charged; eligible images can be submitted for manual review within 7 days.
